bacKstory

Born deep in the Tail Mountains, Mun spent her childhood learning how to hunt and climb, ultimately becoming as a young adult one of greatest hunters of the Khatayins, able to take down any prey set to her - whether animal, or Spoken. In the manner of the Steppe Mun was often cruel and dismissive of those outside her tribe, and although she did manage to form a few friendships with others, she was often quite alone, and very content in her solitude.Things changed, however, after the Sixth Umbral Calamity. The meteor showers which accompanied the fall of Dalamud awakened the Echo in Mun, a power she could not previously access. While her manifestation was relatively weak, there was no one in her tribe who could help her learn to manage it, and she chose to venture out to find others with the skill. She spent time travelling the Steppe, then further afield, before ultimately coming to Eorzea around the year 4 6UE, where she had learned there were many others in her position, and there were groups who specialised in training Echo users.After her training was complete, Mun founded an adventuring group with her best friend Floki and began travelling around Eorzea, the rest of Aldenard, and even further afield. During this time she met her now-husband, and they married in her homeland when her adventuring brought her back to the Steppe some time later.After the Final Days were averted, Mun and her friends chose to take time off from adventuring, and she and Floki instead took to a new vocation and founded the kink-focused venue they run together. Otherwise, Mun contracts often with Clan Centurio for special hunts, and travels back home every year for the Naadam. More recently, she was bitten and changed by a vampiric voidsent, and has largely withdrawn from a more public life due to her discomfort with her new biology.

- If your character is a game hunter of any kind, you've likely run into Mun on a group bill going against particularly nasty prey.- While Mun doesn't play any instruments herself, she's a talented singer and a prolific lyricist. She occasionally busks and sings in coffeehouses - if your character is a fellow bard, or if they follow indie music, her voice might be familiar.- During her youth on the Steppe, Mun led a very different life - her tribe often raiding, killing, and taking slaves from others. Although she's changed a lot since her Echo woke and she came to Eorzea, fellow Xaela of the tribes might remember a much more openly cruel version of her from the past.- Although she rarely speaks of it openly, Mun has been bitten - and corrupted - by a vampiric voidsent. In the time since she has gained very little control over the dark hunger and hypersensitivity that now overcomes her, and relies almost entirely on her filtration mask to resist temptation. Perhaps your character has the experience to help her learn how to adjust... or perhaps they sense that something is wrong, and seek to end her.
